~*~Goaties!~*~
Getting a goat wasn't something on my mind at the my EX husband decided he wanted one.
Joy (4/29/07) was a 2 week old Pygmy/Nigerian Dwarf x "bottle baby" which meant round the clock bottle feeds. And they don't get ANY cuter...tiny...mainly black with some white and honey colored eyes... even though I am VERY against the cruelty of weaning baby goats at a day old just to get the doe's milk. :(
During this time, I decided to get Fiona (5/22/07), a Nigerian Dwarf goat, about 2 weeks later and at 3 weeks old. She was so, SO tiny! Mainly white with some calico markings and bright, clear blue eyes!
These two constantly crack me up and apprently me running willy nilly in the yard and jumping up on their big wooden stools cracks others up! LOL
I don't care...they're my babies! And Fiona STILL calls me Maaaaaaaa!
Little did I know when I met Fiona, how much she would impact my life and that this would be a WILD and hard ride with her. You can read about that HERE.
Fiona lost her battle and Crossed over the Rainbow Bridge Monday 9/29/08.
As heart wrenching as her loss has been on me, it was also very hard on Joy. I tried to find her some new friends to help her through her depression. These three little goats are very similar to Fiona in so many ways.
Puffin is an April '08 Nigerian (Pygmy cross I think) whether. He's very tiny and very sweet and lovey.
Pan is a May '08 Nigerian Dwarf whether. He has so many of Fiona's goofy antics, its a little eery. He'll literally just flop and go limp in your lap for attention...and if you DO ignore him, the little snot will thump you one!
Mimi is a 2 year old Pygmy doe, and she and Joy were very stand off-ish of one another at first. But, now are like two peas in a pod. What a sweet doe Mimi is too. Pix to come soon.
